50 years of maritime life on the Weser<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The history of Mehlbergen Marina begins in the year 1975<\/strong>. Where boats now lie at the jetties and Motorhome guests<\/a> looking out onto the harbour basin, there was a former gravel pit there at the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A breakthrough created the connection to the Weser and thus the basis for a small marina. Initially, the facilities were still simple and provisional. However, just a few years later, the marina was further developed piece by piece.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the 1980s, new sanitary facilities and additional amenities for boat owners were created. Between 1986 and 1990, the old wooden jetties were gradually replaced by around 320-metre-long reinforced timber jetties<\/strong> replaced. This not only increased the number of berths, but also the comfort for guests and seasonal berth holders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today the marina has around 130 berths<\/a><\/strong> for different boat sizes. Electricity connections at the berths, fresh water, sanitary facilities and other amenities are now standard features. Motorhome guests have also long since discovered the marina as a regular destination on the Middle Weser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The location near the entrance to the Sebbenhausen lock canal at Weser km 274.6<\/strong> makes the marina an easily accessible starting point for trips on the Middle Weser to this day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u201eRoter Sand\u201c lighthouse\u201c<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A special landmark of the marina is the replica of the lighthouse \u201eRed Sand\u201c<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The small lighthouse was built on 20th September 2014<\/strong> solemnly inaugurated and commemorates the maritime tradition of the marina. Today it is firmly established as part of the harbour's image and is a popular photo opportunity for guests and visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From a small marina to a versatile meeting place<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Over the years, the original marina has evolved into a place where diverse people come together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pleasure boaters find their permanent berth here or stop over as visiting sailors. Motorhome guests spend a few days by the harbour basin. Cyclists make use of the proximity to the Weser Cycle Path, and visitors from Mehlbergen and the surrounding area drop by the Treibgut Store.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite many changes, one thing has remained: Marina Mehlbergen is still to this day family-run<\/strong>. Personal contact, short lines of communication and proximity to our guests are just as much a part of the marina for us as boats, pontoons and water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

50 years of Mehlbergen Marina<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In the year 2025<\/strong> Marina Mehlbergen celebrated her 50th anniversary<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Half a century in which a former gravel pit has gradually become a marina and meeting place on the Middle Weser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And even after 50 years, we are continuing to develop the marina \u2013 without forgetting how it all began.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
